Passengers – Movie Revi
This is a really good, incredibly well-written movie that brings out a lot of strong feelings. The acting is superb, especially from Chris Pratt and the absolutely beautiful Jennifer Lawrence. I won't spoil the ending here in case some of you haven't watched it yet, but I will say that I understand how it conclude
That being said... I had a massive problem with what he did. It was honestly kind of creepy! He sits there staring at this woman while she is unconscious in stasis, not knowing a single thing about her, talking to her, and forming this intense bond entirely in his own mind. He becomes so obsessed that he is willing to sabotage her container, waking her up and essentially condemning her to live on that ship forever until they both pass away—or until someone goes crazy and kills the other. It feels so incredibly weak and arrogant of him to sentence her to a life she didn't choose, just because he was lonely. I get that they had to do it to make the movie happen, but stil
Just imagine if this story was told from the perspective of the new planet centuries later. If they were filming documentaries about the colonization history, this single event would be the most fascinating, heavily debated topic in the new world for generations. Personally, I think he was completely in the wrong. It’s just creepy—even if I have to admit, she is incredibly hot! It is a stellar film that will leave you thinking long after the credits .
