I can’t believe this absolute garbage actually got made. Talk about a masterclass in how to completely sabotage a movie before it even hits the screen. Supergirl is an unmitigated disaster from top to bottom, and honestly? The studio and the actress got exactly what they deserved.
Let’s start with the sheer arrogance behind this project. Lead actress Milly Alcock decided it was a brilliant marketing strategy to go on a public press tour mocking audiences, specifically taking cheap shots at Christian families and traditional fans. When your main star openly insults half the demographic expected to buy tickets, you shouldn't be surprised when the theaters are completely empty. Nobody likes this version of the character, nobody cares about this forced, gritty girl-boss narrative, and nobody asked for it.
The script itself is entirely brainless. It's full of ridiculous, glaring plot holes that make absolutely no sense. For crying out loud, she is an invulnerable alien—how did she even pierce her ears? Did she use a laser? Did she find a convenient piece of kryptonite just for jewelry? It’s completely stupid. The director, Craig Gillespie, has served up a monumental, chaotic flop that is going to do serious, long-term damage to his career. It shifts from generic, shallow nonsense to a complete mess of an action movie. This isn't just a bad superhero film; it is a punch in the face to the audience. Avoid it like absolute plague.
