The Basement Ballistics Club

*The Basement Ballistics Club**

Being a kid was a different kind of magic, wasn't it? My friend Allen and I were masters of our own little universe, and for a time, that universe was centered entirely around our "BB Gun Club."

Now, you might imagine two boys out in the woods, stalking through the brush. But no—our adventures were strictly subterranean. We held our meetings in the basement, where we’d set up a heavy metal table as our firing range. Our targets? Plastic army men, brave and unsuspecting, lined up just four feet away.

It was a game of precision and terror. We’d take our shots and then dive headfirst behind the sofa, ducking for cover as the BBs went screaming off the metal. The air was filled with the rhythmic *ping-ping-ping* of ricochets and Allen’s frequent, panicked cry: *"Oh, my balls!"* whenever a stray shot got a bit too close for comfort.

We thought we were invisible down there. We thought the basement belonged to us.

That was, until the basement door creaked open.

The heavy silence that followed was broken only by the sharp voice of Allen’s mother echoing down the stairs. She didn’t ask about the safety goggles we weren't wearing or the dents in the wall. She simply looked at the table and asked:

*"Is that my metal tray?"*

The shift in the atmosphere was instantaneous. I looked at the tray—now dimpled and scarred by a hundred lead rounds—and then I looked at Allen.

"I think I need to go home and do something," I said, already halfway to the stairs. I didn't specify what that "something" was, but it definitely involved being as far away from that basement as humanly possible before the real shouting started.

I hold onto that memory tightly. It’s one of the gems I’m tucking away here on the blog. I want it documented—this silly, loud, wonderful moment of my life—so that no matter what happens, the story of two boys, a metal tray, and a basement full of ricochets is never lost.

Kids Just being Kids.

Just being a kid was so much fun. I remember my friend Allen and I had many adventures. We had a BB gun club.

Yes, did we shoot outside? No, inside in the basement. We set targets four feet away on a metal table. Then we would take shots at army men or whatever and shoot them, being quick to duck under the couch, hoping there were no ricochets. Allen's common phrase, "Oh, my balls," was often heard. It was all fun and games until his mother stepped into the basement and said, "Is that my metal tray?" Then I said to Allen, "I think I need to go home and do something," and I left in a hurry.

That was a fun memory. I still hold onto it and will continue to, as long as my memory allows. That's why I'm writing this blog; if my memory is taken by another stroke, at least there will be documentation of some of the silly things I did in my life.

A Goonies sequel

1

So a joke about Goonies 2  Lost Treasure.  😳
I did not think it would happen
. It has been a life time ago. 1985.
So am I do it think it's a good idea 💡 🤔.

Well when the story ended the pirate ship was on was out 🌊 sea. Most likely the cost gaurd seize the ship.

So the US with a ship full of gold.  Then they saved the Goondocks. I don't think 🤔 Sloth would be able to stay. He would be in institution.

Bran would be off to college.  Cracks would start in the friendship.  In high-school  would get further spread apart as far as the friend group.

Friends move on.life gets busy.

As much as everyone would like to hold on. I think 🤔 another movie would be a bad idea 💡.

There is no sequel to the movie "stand by me" .   No sequel to "flight of the navigator "

No sequel, for "It"

I think that it's a bad idea  and it will flop.   I like to think all the Goonies went on lead a happy 😊 life.

That is my opinion  only.  Agree, disagree, leave your opinions in the comments. Please share this bug with your friends.

A REMADE OF "Stand by me"

STAND BY ME. Reboot

The Legend of the '80s Reboot: Is Stand By Me Returning?

STORYTELLER’S NOTE: The following information is based on circulating industry rumors and whispers. While the details are intriguing, none of this has been officially confirmed by the studios. Read with an open mind and a proper sense of wonder.

There is a whisper traveling through the grapevine tonight, and if it’s true, we are looking at the return of a legend. Rumor has it that a reboot of the quintessential coming-of-age classic, Stand By Me, is finally in the works.

But there’s a massive twist.

Forget the 1950s and the search for a body along the train tracks of a bygone era. The word is that this new journey will be set in the 1980s. It’s a bold move—shifting the nostalgia from the world of Gordie Lachance to the neon-soaked, bike-riding era that the original film actually debuted in.

The Feldman Factor

Perhaps the most shocking part of the rumor is who is sitting in the director's chair. Corey Feldman—the original Teddy Duchamp—is rumored to be partly directing the project. Having someone who lived and breathed the original "lightning in a bottle" moment could be exactly what a project like this needs to keep its soul.

The "Perfect" Gamble

The production is reportedly hunting for a $20 million budget, with filming rumored to begin in 2027. However, the lead director and the green light are still up in the air.

The word behind the scenes is that this movie will either be the greatest reboot of our generation or a total failure—there is no middle ground. Because of that, the backers are being incredibly cautious. They are holding out for the perfect script, the perfect writing, and a perfect cast of four boys who can capture that raw, believable chemistry we all remember.

Final Thoughts

Could a 1980s-set Stand By Me actually work? If they get the casting right and keep the heart of Stephen King’s story at the center, it could be a beautiful homage to friendship.

What do you think? Would you be in favor of this reboot, or should the classics be left alone? Personally, I think if it’s done right... it could be something special.

That’s all the research I could find for now. Stay tuned for more updates as the rumors develop!
